So I decided to take a deep breath and delete the 1,700 deviations I hadn't seen and the 1,400 comments/notices/journals/polls/contests/blahs I hadn't really been able to keep track of since forever, and finally post one of the turning point pieces of art I did last summer. I have a lot of pieces I haven't posted anywhere, and have kept stored in my harddrive, so I guess it's time to let them finally see the light of day, so to speak.

Ever since I started work, it's been pretty hellish trying to find any time to do, well, anything else. Even during the weekends or holidays, I find myself having to work. And the work I'm doing at the moment has nothing to do with my usual creative outlets, which in many ways was deliberate. I don't really want my work life to clash with my creative life.

That said, though, it seems like sometimes that my work life is threatening to completely overwhelm my creative one. And yes, you can guess how stifled and cranky that makes my creative side feel.

But every now and then, as I pop back into DA just to take a random look at things, I get re-inspired by everyone and I remember what it's like to be a member of this community and to actually have the chance to show what I can do. And I remember just how much damn FUN it is to draw. I can't live without this world, not in any meaningful way, I've come to realise.

So I've cleared out the cobwebs, once again. I've come into vaccum and blow out the window another cloud of dust.

Whether I'll let it settle again too soon, we'll see. But basically, this is my declaration: I'm going to work, but I'm going to draw, too. This is my passion, after all. I'm going to make this work!
